Florida TE Tony Livingston enters transfer portal

Florida TE Tony Livingston enters transfer portal

Florida junior tight end Tony Livingston announced his entry into the transfer portal on Sunday.

"I am incredibly grateful to coach Billy Napier for believing in me and allowing me to represent the University of Florida — it has truly been an honor to wear the Gator uniform and compete at such a high level," Livingston wrote in his post. "I appreciate the coaching staff, my teammates and everyone associated with the program who helped me grow both on and off the field."

"After much prayer and thoughtful conversations with my family, I have decided to enter the transfer portal as I continue to seek the path God has planned for me. I will always be thankful for my time at Florida and the memories and lessons I gained that will stay with me forever."

Livingston's decision comes after Florida added a pair of tight ends — Georgia Tech's Luke Harpring and James Madison's Lacota Dippre — and Jon Sumrall's staff worked hard to reverse Amir Jackson's portal decision.

Tony Livingston's Florida career

Livingston signed with Florida as a member of the class of 2022, ranked No. 60 among tight ends in the recruiting cycle. He greyshirted, reserving a year of eligibility and his redshirt, while transitioning to tight end, fully joining the team in 2023.

As a true freshman, he served primarily in a special teams role, playing in seven games for Florida. He recorded one reception for four yards that season. In 2024, Livingston stepped into a bigger role for the Gators' offense, logging 218 offensive snaps over 10 games (one start). He recorded 11 receptions for 109 yards and two touchdowns.

Livingston was Florida's highest-graded tight end in 2025, earning a 76.2 overall grade, according to Pro Football Focus. Further broken down, Livingston earned an 85.2 receiving — the top among all Florida pass-catchers, receivers and running backs included — a 67.5 drop grade, a 68.7 fumble grade, a 61.4 run-blocking grade and a 70.1 pass-blocking grade.

He added 11 receptions for 119 yards and two touchdowns for a career total of 232 yards and four scores on 23 receptions.
