Arsenal latest: Jesus wants to extend deal at Emirates
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said the opportunity to secure a top-eight finish in the Champions League league phase would be "massive" for the club's season ahead of Tuesday's trip to Inter Milan. The Gunners are the only unbeaten side in this season's competition and will ensure they avoid dropping into the play-off round, and an additional two games, if they can win at the San Siro in midweek. When asked just how important a top-eight finish would be, he said: "It's massive, we know that. We know if we win tomorrow that will be the case, so now we need to make it happen."It is the second season in a row that Arsenal have visited Inter Milan in the league phase. In 2024/25, the Italian side were the only team to beat them at this stage of the competition with a 1-0 victory in November 2024.Arteta said: "It's a very similar context to last year - where the two teams are at the moment is a bit different, with a new manager who has given them some other things with their identity and the way that they play."But we know they are a super-competitive team."
