Chelsea latest: Rosenior gives Palmer and James injury updates
Chelsea match-winner Moises Caicedo knows he has a leadership role to play at Stamford Bridge after his late goal beat Pafos and helped dodge Champions League embarrassment.A nervy 1-0 victory over the Cypriot minnows meant the Blues will go into the final matchday in the top eight and with their fate in their own hands, knowing victory against former boss Antonio Conte’s Napoli will almost certainly see them through.Caicedo’s headed winner came in the 76th minute, just as it was beginning to look as though a frustrating night would end in a damaging draw. The Ecuador international has been one of his team’s outstanding players this season and, despite being only 24, plays a senior role in what is a young squad. His absence was keenly felt during a three-match suspension in December for a sending-off against Arsenal and the team noticeably lacks physicality in midfield when the former Brighton player is missing.“A lot of people tell me I’m a leader,” he said. “I don’t talk too much in the dressing room, but I like to show on the pitch or in training every day. That’s important.“It was a very important goal for the team. I’m just so happy we could win this game. It was tough, but the team was good. I don’t score headers often, but tonight was the night.”
