Chelsea latest: Palmer and James back training, says Rosenior
Analysis from Sky Sports News' Gail Davies: "Rosenior’s been in the job just over a week and so far has a victory and defeat in two cup competitions. He has barely had time to take a breath and is already more accustomed with the media and the press conference room at Cobham than some of his players. "On Saturday he gets a crack at the Premier League for the first time. Roll back to November and there were some talking about Chelsea being in a title race but one league win in nine has seen the club tumble to eighth - three positions lower than their opponents at the weekend, Brentford. "Off the back of the semi-final first leg defeat to Arsenal in the Carabao Cup where Rosenior admitted his side 'do need to switch on' having conceded goals from a corner, a throw and a free kick, there was some potentially good news for the new Chelsea head coach who was hoping both Cole Palmer and Reece James would train today having missed the game against Arsenal with a thigh and hip problem respectively. "Having those two available for the first time is certainly a boost especially given Chelsea’s home form - they have won only once in the league at home since the end of November. "What Rosenior could have probably done without is a virus that has spread through the squad – Liam Delap was at home with a high temperature having missed the game, so too Jamie Gittens and Chelsea can’t afford to lose anyone else. Or indeed lose. "There are expected to be protests pre-game outside of the stadium on Saturday with a group of fans unhappy with the club's ownership. "It’s a situation no new boss wants to be walking in to but the only answer for Rosenior as it is for so many of the questions that has come his way over the last week or so - there have been a lot of them - is to win."
