Jaylen Brown matches career-high with 50 points in win vs. Clippers

The superstar was on bright display in Los Angeles for the Boston Celtics on Saturday, as Jaylen Brown stole the show in the final game of the team's five-game road trip. Finishing off their travel with a 4-1 record, Brown capped it all off by tying his career-high of 50 points, against a Clippers team that had come in winning five straight games.

There was no shortage of scoring in the game, but the second half belonged to Boston with a firm grip, as they scored at least 30 points in both the third and fourth quarters. Boston would tie their season high of 146 team points in the victory over the Clippers, showing what they could do as they put it all together on offense.

Here's a quick recap of Boston's 31-point win against the Clippers:

Final score: Boston Celtics 146, Los Angeles Clippers 115

Keys to the game:

Jaylen Brown's 50-piece: Enjoying quite the night for himself, Jaylen Brown matched a career-high with 50-points, on a very efficient night of shooting from all areas of the floor. Brown finished 18-26 from the field, 6-10 from 3-point range, and 8-10 from the free throw line, and then exited the game with 3 minutes to go in the fourth quarter to MVP chants. It was quite a way to cap off the West coast trip for Brown and the Celtics, as he looked disheartened to be taken out by Joe Mazzulla at the end of the fourth, showing an eagerness to set a new career-high, although it was not to be on the night.

3-point shooting: Looking like the Celtics with the identity that has carried them over the past 3 years, Boston let it fly from 3-point range on Saturday night, shooting 47% from deep. Boston made 24 3-point shots compared to 15 for the Clippers on the night, with the Celtics having six different players make at least two or more 3-point attempts.

Controlled the boards: While the two teams tied one another for points in the paint, there was not much of a match on the boards, as Boston outrebounded Los Angeles 46-30, including 16 offensive rebounds. Jordan Walsh paced the Celtics with 13 rebounds off the bench, while Neemias Queta led the starters with 9 boards.

In what will be the first matchup of the season between the two teams, the Celtics will return home on Monday night to welcome the Chicago Bulls. Having lost 3 of their last 5 games, Chicago will come in banged up, being without two of their top guards in Josh Giddey and Coby White who suffered two different injuries this week. Boston will look to continue their momentum from going 4-1 on their road trip, taking on a Bulls team that is one game below .500 and looking for answers for their future. Meanwhile, Boston will continue their surprise success on this season, inching closer to grabbing the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference from the New York Knicks, as the Celtics sit just .5 game behind in the standings.
