A Women's TGL Is On Its Way. Here's Everything We Know
A highly anticipated expansion of the innovative TGL format has been officially confirmed. The LPGA and TMRW Sports announced on Tuesday the creation of the Women's TGL (WTGL), set to debut in the winter of 2026-27 at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach, Florida.
The new league represents a significant step in showcasing women's golf through a modern, media-focused lens. "Partnering with TMRW Sports on WTGL reflects our belief that innovation can help the game reach new fans and create greater visibility for LPGA athletes," stated LPGA Commissioner Craig Kessler. He emphasized the format's potential to engage audiences by highlighting both athlete personality and high-level performance.
Mike McCarley, founder and CEO of TMRW Sports, echoed this vision, noting the league has been a planned initiative since the launch of the men's TGL a year ago. "WTGL’s short-form, team golf format will engage new audiences and complement the LPGA Tour’s global appeal," McCarley said.
While official player rosters have not been released, the league is expected to feature the LPGA's biggest stars. The prospect of integrating charismatic and skilled players like Nelly Korda, Charley Hull, and Brooke Henderson into the fast-paced, primetime team environment has generated considerable excitement among fans and analysts.
The men's TGL, founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, has been hailed as a successful new product in golf entertainment. The launch of a dedicated women's league is viewed as a logical and impactful next chapter, promising to elevate the visibility of the sport's top female athletes on a dynamic new stage.
